NV Energy Update: Thousands Still Without Power, Cooling Centers Opened

As of 10:15 AM, NV Energy is reporting that a little over 2000 customers are still without power after the storms took down utility poles and other infrastructure throughout the Las Vegas Valley yesterday.

As temperatures are climbing — along with the humidity that comes with the monsoon season in full effect — Clark County government has opened up cooling stations for those affected by the power outages, according to their account on X. The list of cooling stations is at the bottom of this page along with the statement.

Long time residents know that heat in the desert is no joke, let alone when it’s made worse by humidity. If you are feeling ill, dizzy, or otherwise sick, please seek medical attention. Stay hydrated and out of the sun, if there is any, as clouds are forecasted for the rest of the day.
